DAS BOOTY | Motion Notion

Since the late 90's, Shawn was hooked on Electronic genres. He quickly considered himself a BreakBeat convert. EVERYTHING was about the BREAKS. Sum-bitch couldn’t brush his teeth without thinking of the beat going in his head!

Over the past 19 years, Shawn has held multiple residencies in Vancouver, Calgary and Kimberley and Invermere. As well as played one off shows and short tour dates every where in between. Including festivals such as FozzyFest, Motion Notion and Shambhala Music Festival.

As of 2010, he has combined forces with the heavy hitters in Sleazy Listening. In those 7 years, the crew has hosted multiple outdoor events. In addition to a weekly Friday night at the local bar, Sleazy Listening has bookings throughout B.C. and Alberta where they travel with they’re own private sound system. The crew is rapidly turning their love of bass music into a low frequency force to be reckoned with.

As of 2015, Shawn has started an new events and production company out of Invermere BC called Local Motive Events. And that same year was invited to provide sound and lighting for Shambhala's "The Grove Stage" side project, "The Cedar Lounge". Now on its second year, The cedar Lounge is quickly becoming its own signature entity at a festival know for its unique and individual stage flavours.

As an artist, DasBooty is a mixed bag of genre's. Playing everything from Chill / Lounge, Reggae to Deep Dub, House and Breaks, Glitch to DnB. And everything in between. Whether a Saturday night prime time slot or a Sunday afternoon in the sun, his sets are sure to have some grooves to move too. The love he has for the music keeps him ever active in the local scenes. Both in front of and behind the stage.

"It's all about the crowd and it's about the community behind the music. It’s about the good vibes and the low end the vibrations... Its a way of life."

See you on the Dance floor!
